If you want to get the full fun value out of your S&W M&P22 COMPACT .22LR handgun by being able to mount any 1/2x28 TPI threaded accessories such as a SUPPRESSOR, a FLASH HIDER from an AR15 or one of our UNRESTRICTED FAKE SUPPRESSORS, then this is the part that you need. This thread adapter quickly and easily replaces the factory barrel nut using a 5/16 hex / allen wrench (not included) with no modifications to the pistol. The hex / allen wrench if required is available separately - Part # 07166.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This S&W M&P22 COMPACT 1/2x28 tpi THREAD ADAPTER WITH THREAD PROTECTOR will only fit the COMPACT model pistol. <br>It will not fit the standard size S&W M&P 22.
1. Ensure that your pistol is NOT LOADED and that the magazine is removed.
2. Pull the slide back enough to expose the factory barrel nut. S&W did not supply a barrel wrench with the pistol so you will have to improvise to remove the factory barrel nut. You can use plyers or vice grips to unscrew the factory barrel nut which will leave marks on the factory barrel nut. It is our recommendation that you carefully remove the barrel nut by covering it with a thin piece of rubber or leather before using plyers or a vice to unscrew the factory barrel nut.
3. With the factory barrel nut removed, replace it with the supplied S&W M&P 22 COMPACT THREAD ADAPTER. Hand tighten and then snug using a 5/16 hex / allen wrench in the front of the adapter. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
All 1/2-28 threaded accessories can now be used on your M&P 22 COMPACT pistol.
