Don't confuse this CNC precision machined CHARGING HANDLE with lower quality plastic slip-on charging handles or charging handles that are made with a bolt added to the side etc. 

This CNC precision machined charging handle is machined to exacting tolerances for a perfect drop-in replacement fit in place of the standard factory cast steel charging handle. It is oversize in length for easier grip and function.   In addition to the CHARGING HANDLE itself, the CHARGING HANDLE ASSEMBLY comes complete with a precision CNC machined STAINLESS STEEL GUIDE ROD and a TARGET RECOIL SPRING. You get the assembly of all 3 pieces for one low price!

This is a nicely made charging handle, but it is not enough larger than the stock one to be worth the price. This handle is not even 1/8 in. longer than the stock handle. In fact, when installed on the 10/22 you won't even notice the difference in size next to a 10/22 with the stock handle.<p> Tactical Innovations Note: We offer three different charging handles. This one is only minimally larger than the factory charging handle. For a larger charging handle, our Super Charger is much larger than the factory one. Many people prefer a charging handle assembly such as this one that they can disassemble (since the Ruger ones are crimped) which allows the shooter to change springs and tune for specific ammo.

There isn't a huge difference in size as said in the previous comment. But as stated in the comment from TI this charging handle is more to give you the option to further customize your gun to the type of ammo you are using. As far as charging handles go this is as solid of a product that you will ever get.
